Presentation of the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts in Berlin
The House of World Cultures – HKW in Berlin will host the presentation of this year’s 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, entitled From the void came gifts of the cosmos. The event will be attended by Ibrahim Mahama, Artistic Director of the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, and members of the Biennale Curatorial Team, Beya Othmani, Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh, Alicia Knock and Inga Lāce. Mahama will present the basic idea of this year’s edition of the Biennale – which is conceived as a void and a space of potentiality and at the same time as an ecosystem of friendship and solidarity – and will explain the premises on which the Biennale exhibition is based. Knock and Lāce will focus on new paths of collaborations and alliances deriving from, but not limited to, the history of the Non-Aligned Movement, one of the main historical references of this year’s edition of the Biennale. Ohene-Ayeh will talk about the educational aspect of the project, while Beya Othmani will speak about "the relationship between the graphic arts and the process of building nation-states in post-independence Africa."
