Drago Hrvacki: A Space for Words, Visual Design of Publications for the Faculty of Social Sciences
The publications for which Drago Hrvacki created the visual design were mostly issued by the FDV Publishing House, while some monographs by faculty authors also appeared under the imprints of other publishers. These book designs reveal how Hrvacki successfully transferred the principles of geometric abstraction into the field of graphic design. Modular structures, clearly organised colour fields and rhythmically arranged elements stem from the same investigations found in his drawings, prints, paintings and objects. In a dialogue between geometric precision and organic line, he created book covers that combine rational construction with subtle visual poetics.
Opening on 18 June 2026 at 11.00, Lobby of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
The exhibition is on view till 13 September and is organised by the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana, and forms part of the accompanying programme to the exhibition Drago Hrvacki: A Space of Order and Quiet Retreat.
