MGLC Summer in Tivoli: Nika Prusnik & bratje Poljanec, concerts
Nika Prusnik & bratje Poljanec
In the mystical sound of this Ljubljana-based ensemble, the ethereal voice of Nika Prusnik intertwines with the intuitive collaboration of the Poljanec brothers – Nejc on the accordion, Jon on the double bass and Luka on percussion. Nika’s lyrics and melodies spring from a deep connection with the natural landscape, evoking a sense of timelessness with their archetypal elements. Enriched by multipart singing, the songs revive a sense of humanity and connection to our roots, while their stories speak of life cycles, rites of passage, the powerful experience of wilderness and a love that has flowed through us since the beginning of time. They connect listeners with the invisible layers of existence and with that something primeval that has always been our home.
Their debut album Ob reki mmm [By the River Mmm] was released in May 2025 by ZKP RTV Slovenia and premiered at the Druga godba festival. A poetry collection of the same title was published alongside the album by Sanje. In February 2026, they also gave an acclaimed performance at the MENT festival.
Deeply poetic. Deeply rooted. Entirely in the present moment.

Noreia
Noreia is a contemporary ethno-folk collective that intertwines tradition with the spirit of the present through the acoustic power of traditional instruments and the natural freshness of the human voice. A sensuous journey between realism and fairytale, between human nature and the natural world that surrounds us, between tears and wild dance. Colourful, sincere, full of narrative and bursting with energy!
“Noreia is already a well-known name to lovers of ethno music, but also a name that is constantly evolving, shifting and testing boundaries. Boundaries between genres, between different cultures and above all, between the past and the present. What they do is not merely a reworking of folk music, but a contemporary reinterpretation of tradition – vibrant, relevant and sincere.” Nika Toporiš, Gorenjski glas, 2025
