Printmaking for Everyone

The Printmaking for Everyone project includes an educational visit to a workplace abroad as its main activity and is implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 1 – learning mobility for individuals. It runs from June 2019 to June 2020 and covers a 14-day training visit by three MGLC employees to the partner fine art printmaking studio Cork Printmakers in Cork, Ireland.

Printmaking for Everyone is conceived as a project that upholds connections with the contents and activities of the MGLC Print Studio, as well as the education programmes within fine art printmaking and printing techniques for a variety of target groups and orientations. The aim of the project is to exploit the potential of synergy held by MGLC within fine art printmaking, to promote graphic creativity and skill, to cooperate with recognised experts in the field of art printing, to establish work placements for specific professional profiles and above all to establish long-lasting cooperation with local and foreign institutions that can contribute support to our institution.

We decided to collaborate with Cork Printmakers since they act as catalysts for ideas and dialogue in their environment and we are confident that this kind of knowledge can also be transferred to the local environment of Ljubljana and further afield nationally. A strong point of contact is also the synergy of the long-term goals of international collaboration (mobility of masters, programmes, artists and exhibitions).

The project takes place in cooperation with the Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS).
