The catalogue Victor Vasarely in the Echo expands on some of the aspects opened up by the selection of works in the exhibition of the same title. The text by Márton Orosz, one of the most respected experts on Vasarely's work, introduces the reader to selected segments of the artist's life and work. This is followed by a contribution from Božidar Zrinski, the co-curator of the exhibition, who provides insight into the cultural climate of the late 1960s and Vasarely's role within it. He also maps out a fascinating network of geographically distant yet closely connected galleries, print publishers and artists engaged in geometric-abstract art during that period. The final essay in the catalogue has been provided by researcher Nika Grabar, who draws detailed parallels between the pedagogical work of Professor Edvard Ravnikar, architect and founder of the B Course, and Victor Vasarely's creative principles. The catalogue is richly illustrated with reproductions of works by Victor Vasarely as well as Slovenian and Croatian artists, whose pieces are also featured in the exhibition.
