Gabrijel Stupica, Resistance
The catalogue to the Gabrijel Stupica, Resistance exhibition focuses on a series of twelve previously unknown small-format gouaches made at around 1960, which were presented at MGLC for the first time. These are consistently monofigural drawings in dark muted colours. The pieces depict scenes of underground activities during the war, such as trials, secret meetings, grief, despair, massacres of hostages and prisoners embarking on their final journey. The exhibition was organized by MGLC, the Organizing Committee of Commemoration of the 11 July 1995, the 14th Anniversary of the Genocide against the Bosniaks of the “UN Protected Zone” of Srebrenica, and the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and was part of a comprehensive programme commemorating the 11 July 1995, the 14th anniversary of the genocide against the Bosniaks of the “UN Protected Zone” of Srebrenica, and the burial of the identified victims. The show was also on view in Srebrenica. The exhibition was curated by Jure Mikuž.
