Maria Bonomi, Printmaking Forever

The catalogue contains an introductory texts by Maria Bonomi and Breda Škrjanec, colour reproductions, as well as biographical data. The curators of the exhibition, that was held during the 32nd Biennial of Graphic Arts Birth as Criterion (16. 6.–29. 10. 2017), were Breda Škrjanec in Barbara Savenc. The exhibition was produced in cooperation with MGML – City Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana and Jakopič Gallery. The work of Maria Bonomi establishes printmaking as a means of expression, where paper is no longer a physical boundary of a medium, but serves as an endless source for experimentation. She skilfully creates contrasts between the intrepid abstract image in strong colours, and the thin fine rice paper which colours filter through, creating transparent colour veils.
