The flat comprises a work studio and a living area (kitchen, bathroom, sleeping area).

Equipment and furnishings

The work studio is equipped with basic furnishings (desk, chair). The living area consists of a kitchen (fridge, cooker, table, sink, cupboards), a bathroom and a sleeping area (bed). Bed linen is provided and residents can use the laundry room.

Period of use

1 month (March and November).

Writer in the Park Residency

The international residency programme is a collaboration between Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature, and MGLC and is aimed at literary creators. Ljubljana, a UNESCO City of Literature since 2015, offers two one-month residencies (March and November) for writers associated with a UNESCO City of Literature. Applicants must have published at least one book of fiction (prose, poetry or drama) in their own language. There are no restrictions in terms of age, race, gender or nationality.

The organisers help the residents to get to know Ljubljana's vibrant art and literary scene and to make contacts. They offer residents the opportunity to present their work in public and meet with translators if necessary. Group activities such as meetings with the organiser, publishers, and so on, are also planned during the residency.

USERS
The residency is open to writers associated with a UNESCO City of Literature.

COST OF USE
Living expenses, travel expenses and a stipend are covered for the selected resident.

HOW TO APPLY
The call for applications for the Writer in Residence is published by the Ljubljana Office, UNESCO City of Literature, every November for the following year. More …
