The print portfolio entitled Traceaction, conceived by Mia Paller and Monika Plemen, is the result of a collaboration between the International Centre of Graphic Arts (MGLC) and Hiša kulture in Pivka (HKP). Both institutions promote the research, presentation and production of contemporary printmaking. Each of the two institutions has its own print studio, where they offer the opportunity to print independently or with the help of master printers in various printmaking techniques.
The print portfolio contains eight prints in different techniques created in the two print studios. Each artist created three prints, two were produced jointly. All eight prints have a common starting point, which relates to the understanding of the concept of the trace. The two artists see the trace in the context of proving the existence of events from the past, as a trace of a path travelled, as a consequence of the ravages of time, or as a direct imprint and part of the process of creating a print.
