Zajtrk

The Zajtrk band consists of Laura Krajnc (violin, vocals and tambourine tamer) and Sven Horvat (guitar tamer, who also sings sometimes). Both love fairy tales, stories, fables, funny anecdotes, theatre and other whimsical things, so all this is interwoven with their musical creations. They let the music take them wherever it wants. They are very open about genres and use them to support and illustrate the emotions and stories in their songs. Their compositions intertwine folk and ethno music with punk chanson, cabaret, jazz, blues, pop and rock to create a hard-hitting, alternative singer-songwriter expression. In short, Zajtrk are an ethno-chanson duo. They strive above all to preserve the Slovenian language in song lyrics, to cultivate social criticism and mischievousness, to maintain the autonomy of creativity, to preserve humour and to bring the folkloric into music. Most of all, their music reflects an interest in people and their comic, rebellious, confused, tragic, unhappy and happy lives.
