STEP 4:

The main prize – a Sunday family lunch – is offered by Bistro Švicarija, Caffe Bienale is contributing 15 delicious cake pops, and the remaining prizes are provided by MGLC.
Small but dangers, correctly "small but dangerous", is a deliberately misspelt phrase that has become a guiding thread, a recognisable slogan and the name under which the art duo Mateja Rojc and Simon Hudolin work. Well established on the Slovenian art scene, the duo have been presenting audiences with a variety of visual jabs since their first exhibitions in 2004, testing the flexibility of our grey matter and, above all, our capacity for observation, reading and searching for the unfamiliar within the familiar.

Sašo Vrabič, New Plate
Exhibition opening
Sašo Vrabič presents a series of prints entitled New Plate, produced in the MGLC Print Studio. The conceptually conceived series unites the artist's interest for creating and interweaving pictorial language, sonic/musical expression and visual poetry. All of this is reflected in the witty titles of the prints, fleeting thoughts and selected words through which he quite literally draws and paints his images. In the given context, the title of the series evokes an association between a vinyl record and a graphic plate. The entire series of prints is produced on the artist's old prints, cut to the format of a record sleeve.
The titles of the individual prints inspired Vrabič to compose 12 original songs, which he skilfully arranged on his first solo vinyl record, also entitled New Plate. A limited edition of 55 copies was released to accompany the exhibition.

Between Portrait and Impression
Exhibition closing
The exhibition presents a diverse cross-section of contemporary graphic art as shaped by the generations of artists connected to the International Centre of Graphic Arts. It is complemented by images of the artists captured through the lens of photographer Urška Boljkovac. Her spontaneous portraits reflect a relaxed atmosphere and reveal the pulse of the community that has grown in the studio over the years.
The exhibition presents:
Neža Jurman, David Kucler, Miha Majes, Oliver Pilić, Monika Plemen, Arjan Pregl, Lina Rica, Jaanus Samma, Small but dangers (Simon Hudolin and Mateja Rojc), Marko Šajn, SVS – Sreda v sredo (Žiga Artnak, Urban Cerjak and Matic Flajs), Mladen Stropnik, Sašo Vrabič, Sonja Vulpes, Leon Zuodar, Honza Zamojski
and
the author of their portraits, Urška Boljkovac.
On Slovenian Cultural Day, we are offering a 15% discount on the purchase of prints.
