Sašo Vrabič, New Plate
You and your friends are cordially invited to the opening of the exhibition New Plate by Sašo Vrabič at the International Centre of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, on Sunday, 8 February 2026, at 12 noon.
Sašo Vrabič has produced an extensive series of prints entitled New Plate in the MGLC Print Studio. This conceptually conceived series unites the artist's interest for imaginative creating and interweaving of pictorial language, sonic/musical expression and visual poetry. All of this is reflected in the witty titles of the prints, fleeting thoughts and selected words through which he quite literally draws and paints his images. In the given context, the title of the series evokes an association between a vinyl record and a graphic plate. The series of prints is produced on 31 x 31 cm paper, matching the size of a record sleeve. An intriguing starting point is Vrabič's decision to recycle old prints, cutting them into a new format and printing new images on them.
The titles of the individual prints inspired Vrabič to compose 12 original compositions, which he skilfully arranged on his first solo vinyl record, also entitled New Plate, released in a limited edition of 55 copies to accompany the exhibition.
The exhibition opening will feature a pre-premiere performance from the emerging young music collective S P R A N D I.
