ADRIANA'S ROOM, professional excursion to Goriška in the framework of the retrospective exhibition of Adriana Maraž

As part of the retrospective exhibition of Adriana Maraž, the International Centre of Graphic Arts is organising a professional excursion to Goriška, the environment of the artist's youth.

Adriana Maraž lived in her home in Vrtojba between 1954 and 1960. The Maraz family house still preserves a fascinating painting on the ceiling of her room with images from the history of art and the history of different cultures. The creativity of Adriana Maraž and an expert introduction to the room will be presented by the co-curator of the exhibition, Nadja Zgonik, PhD.

After the tour of the room in Vrtojba, the path will lead us to the Laščak Villa and through the park. We will experience the story of this pearl of cultural heritage and the tour of the park in the company of our guide Blaž Kosovel, cultural worker, researcher and editor of the magazine Razpotja.

Blaž Kosovel, who is also the leader of the Ab Initio - Urban Utopia project (in the official programme of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica 2025) and the author of the documentary series Goriški sprehodi, will be our guide for the rest of the tour and will take us on his urban-historical walk through the short but turbulent history of Nova Gorica.

The afternoon part of the excursion will be designed in a relaxed way, with a walk through Old Gorizia.

Price: €30 (includes bus transport, guided tours, excursion organisation). The excursion is free of charge for members of the Friends of the Biennale Club.

Coordinators: Lili Šturm, Petra Klučar
