The 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts is dedicated to Vesna Petrešin

Vesna Petrešin – artist, architect of time, researcher of movement and visionary with a rare ability to connect art, science and spirituality – left us far too soon. Through her transdisciplinary practice, she left a profound mark on the international scene, presenting work at numerous prestigious venues such as Tate Modern, the Venice Biennale and the Royal Festival Hall.

She is also one of the participating artists in the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts. Her work Autonomous Energy Machine, created in collaboration with Prof Dr Eugen Petrešin, is on view in the basement of MGLC Švicarija. In a secret laboratory, we encounter the work of an artist and a scientist, who jointly developed devices that generate clean, free energy for the world. The installation features a board filled with formulae and drawings, as well as autonomous energy machine prototypes. The prototypes were created by Prof Dr Eugen Petrešin, a scientist in the field of engineering, while Vesna Petrešin created the immersive environment – a lab where the prototypes meet the thought process in the form of notes, calculations and blueprints, as well as audible traces of scientific work.

Through her work, Vesna Petrešin encouraged empathy, intuition and the vision of a different world. Her legacy remains an inspiration for future generations of creators and thinkers.
