IBA Stage: 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts
Ibrahim Mahama was recently a guest speaker at the IBA (International Biennial Association) Stage online event. He presented his vision for From the void came gifts of the cosmos, the 35th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts which opened on September 15th 2023 and ran until January 14th 2024. His project, developed in conjunction with the curatorial team, reflected on anti-colonial / anti-imperial struggles by placing a focus on built environment, infrastructural traces and material legacy exposing the deep history of nationalisms which is still very much present in all corners of the world. He was joined at the event by curators of the Ljubljana Biennale, Kwasi Ohene-Ayeh from the Exit Frame Collective and Inga Lace, C-MAP Central and Eastern Europe Fellow at MoMA, New York.
